ANNA MArra

 

Anna Marra was born in Genoa in 1970.

She has been singing from the age of 2 (probably from conception). But the journey was not that simple!

She achieved Bachelor in letters and specialization in archaeology… but music and songs never left her.

Anna learned to play  guitar at age 13 and at 15 she joined a Genoan Folk Chorus (New School Harmony).

At 18 Anna bought her first Jazz Record , featuring Ella Fitzgerald and fell in love with this Music.

Anna was completely self-taught at first , but her first true teacher, Kjerstin Hoege Pronzato , helped her

very much in improving her technique , in the Jazz style mainly.

In  2002 Anna joined the Obrigado group ,  playing kinda Bossa-Nova repertoire  with many live concerts

in the North Italian (Piemonte) area.

In  2005 Anna lent her voice for the music score of the animated film "The Crow and the Butterfly" , in 

competition at the Festival Film of Turin , then  she had some live participations on radio program over Jazz History

in the time lapse between "The New Orleans" era and present days.

In 2008 Anna  won 1st place in the very first edition of  "The gold frog” , a singing competition which took place in Novara.

But Pop and Jazz Music were obviously not enough for Anna , who started soonafter to show a growing interest in the

Lyric Genre. It's the starting gun for a renewed enthusiasm pushing her to work hard with the help of Maestro 

Enrico Gregori , Bass Voice in the "Coro stabile lirico del Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova".

 

Soonafter , she joined the "Coro Lirico Quadrivium" in Genoa , performing Sacred Music and in many Operas like Tosca, Rigoletto, Traviata, Cavalleria Rusticana, Otello, Norma, Butterfly.

In 2013 Anna has been nominated President of the "Associaione Spettacolo e Cultura".

Since then , Anna has been actively cooperating with the "Teatro Verdi" in Genoa. She also often introduces Operas transmitted via TV streaming.

 

After a countless collaborations , too many to be mentioned here , Anna joined Narrow Pass in 2014 , singing on the Track "Fireflies" (A New Day Album)

at first , but the result was so good that Anna was asked to sing on other tracks and eventually to join the Band.

Anna will be singing also on the forthcoming Narrow Pass's singer (Alessandro Serri) Album.
